World-wide domestic
and foreign broadcasts are available on four shortwave bands.
Power is provided
by four "AA" Ni-Cad rechargeable batteries (included) that
typically last four to five years. When fully charged, they will operate
the radio for approximately seven hours of continuous play. Low battery
condition will be displayed on the LED indicator. Ni-Cad batteries
can be recharged hundreds of times (up to 1,000 times when properly
cared for). The batteries can be recharged in the following ways:
Built-in solar
panel with lifetime warranty. By hand-cranking the built-in Dynamo.
An automobile cigarette lighter. An AC/DC Adapter (when normal power
is available).
You can recharge
or play this radio just by placing it in the sun. Three hours of sunlight
will charge the radio for approximately 4 to 6 hours of playing time.
It is equipped
with a Dynamo Power Generator. Just turn the self-contained Dynamo
handle for "free" energy. Two minutes of winding provides
about 15 minutes of playing time (depending on volume level). This
is for use when sunlight is not available for recharging.
This emergency
radio can also be powered using an AC/DC Adapter (included), or you
can even plug it in to your automobile's cigarette lighter with a
DC Voltage Converter (included).

manual contains eight pages that explain what shortwave radio is and
how to use it.
